About the Wilcox County Engineer’s Office

The County Engineer’s office provides professional recommendations to and implements the strategy and policies of the County Commission. It also ensures a safe and passable highway and infrastructure system throughout Wilcox County.

The County Engineer is responsible for over 500 miles of roadway and 70 bridges throughout Wilcox County. The office oversees the day to day highway department operations which include a broad range of services including but not limited to:

  • Annual road construction and resurfacing
  • Bridge construction and repair
  • Culvert repair and replacement
  • Right of way maintenance
  • Flood plain regulations
  • Sign maintenance and traffic control upgrades
  • Maintenance of county vehicles and construction equipment
